Buried In Emotion
Conflicted Reason
Poem inspired by original artwork
We can love.
We can hurt.
We can pour our souls —
loudly,
or silently,
as they lurk.
We bear hope,
faith in murky rivers
that never run clear.
Faint signs,
shifting sands,
confusing paths...
We’re left —
conflicted in reason.
Smoke and Mirrors
Behind the gloss, behind the smile,
Lies a truth that hides a while.
Words like whispers, soft and sly,
Twisting tales that bend and fly.
Eyes reflect what’s meant to show,
Yet shadows dance just down below.
A maze of smoke, a veil so thin,
Where truths and lies entwine and spin.
What you see is not always real,
A mirrored world, a spinning wheel.
Lost between the dark and light,
We search for meaning in the night.
So guard your heart, be wise, be clear,
Not all is as it may appear.
For in the end, beyond the fears,
Lies life beyond the smoke and mirrors.
