Conflicted Reason

Poem inspired by original artwork

We can love.
We can hurt.
We can pour our souls —
loudly,
or silently,
as they lurk.

We bear hope,
faith in murky rivers
that never run clear.

Faint signs,
shifting sands,
confusing paths...

We’re left —
conflicted in reason.
